Whether you’re distrustful, have seen someone burned, or you’re the kind of cop that takes responsibility for their own training, we’re gonna go step by step through what you need to know to create your own safety, stay out of Internal Affairs and off the radar of prosecutors.

THE PROBLEM

Times have changed.  Police reform & social justice have caused the increase in discipline, terminations or  officers being charged.
The streets are out of control and politicians and prosecutors are running on promises to “hold officers accountable.”
Nobody wants to be on the news or caught up in the drama of a high profile incident.  But here’s the problem:
  • Parking your car and waiting to be sent to a call is not safer.  It fools you into thinking you’re in control of when calls go upside down.
  • Trying to be officer friendly (to avoid the scrutiny) in the face of dangerous people will get you hurt.
  • Worrying about getting hemmed up if you try to enforce the law or make the scene safe for yourself will also get you hurt.
The explosion of lawsuits and prosecutions of officers have made body-worn video, police performance, and decision making all “super technical” skills that few cops and agencies have.
These skills are exorbitantly expensive to learn and take months to years to learn.
If you don’t already have these skills right now, and your agency doesn’t have them…who’s going to look out for you when things get hot?  Who’s going to teach the prosecutors about the technical issues or explain to them what’s normal?

Where is the training located?
The training is located at the Henderson Police Department, 225 E. Sunset Road, Henderson 89011.

My agency won’t pay for training.
Most agencies won’t pay for the people closest to the danger and most likely to be involved in controversial incidents.  I paid for my own training for the first half of my career, then once I returned to the road I began paying again.  Here’s why:  It’s worth it.
I’ve set it up that you can make payments if necessary.  At check out, select Afterpay and it will divide the payments into 4 installments.

Is there a Hotel you recommend?
We don’t have a host hotel, but there are several nearby:
Sunset Station Hotel:  This would be our first choice.  It’s only 5 minutes by car to the training site and has plenty of restaurants nearby.  Click HERE to be taken to the Sunset Station Website.
Best Western Plus Henderson:  This hotel is in an older area of town, but is also only several minutes from the training location.   It also includes breakfast.  Click HERE to be taken to the Best Western Plus Website.
